Luxury Indian Wedding in the English countryside.
Bollywood Actor Ankur Rathee and actress Anuja Joshi tie the knot in the picturesque UK countryside.
Hidden away within the depths of the Shropshire countryside, you’ll find Hawkstone Hall & Gardens. This 18th Century mansion is renowned for its unrivalled views across the rolling hills and patchwork fields, not to mention its elegant décor and array of architectural delights. It comes as no surprise that Ankur and Anuja fell in love with the setting and instantly knew it would be perfect for their multi-day wedding. It brings me great pleasure to share a snippet from their very special celebration with you on the blog today – from the jaw-dropping beautiful blooms to the couple’s incredible aisle style. Keep scrolling and you’re guaranteed to be inspired…
Held from 13th – 15th June 2022, Ankur and Anuja hosted their wedding over three days, with three pre-wedding events ahead of the day itself. The couple had travelled from the USA & India with their loved ones (with the groom’s family in San Diego and the bride’s family from Washington DC), so it really was an opportunity to gather their loved ones together to celebrate their marriage.
Both working as professional actors in Hollywood and Bollywood the couple wanted an exquisite, private fusion of their cultures, while embracing the backdrop that Hawkstone Hall & Gardens has to offer its visitors. They incorporated lots of Indian traditions, while thoughtfully weaving in quintessential and luxurious elements that worked hand in hand. Ankur and Anuja’s Haldi ceremony was hosted on the 14th June, hosted in the glorious gardens at Hawkstone. The couple were graced with sunshine throughout their outdoor event, as they dazzled in traditional attire – the colour palette was just spectacular!
The Sangeet followed in the evening, which once again took place in the gardens with staging, lighting and full production. Payal Events provided an array of fabulous outdoor festival, street vibe foods whilst Brijwasi were on hand serving the finest cocktails. It was an honour to witness both families perform their dances throughout the evening.
Hawkstone Hall & Gardens really did set the scene for the Sangeet, including dancing under the stars! As the morning of the official wedding day arrived, the groom made his way to the Baaraat, which is a traditional event for the groom ahead of his ceremony.
The bride-to-be looked like a vision in a red and golden gown, adorned with beautiful florals by Anna-Liisa at Springbank Flowers and gilded jewellery. The colour scheme for this event featured lots of pale peach hues, rich coral shades and cornflower blue touches that created a huge amount of impact. For the evening celebrations, the couple changed into classic black-tie attire (the bride dazzled in a metallic embroidered gown that sparkled all night long). They wined and dined with their loved ones at tables that were laden with florals, candlelight and a sumptuous carpet of petals. The Mandap, with it’s curves and circular features was created in keeping with the magnificent chapel in which the ceremony took place.
As golden hour drew in, Ankur and Anuja made the most of the dreamy space on offer at Hawkstone Hall & Gardens with Ad Media, their photographer. The results were just stunning and you can effortlessly feel their love for one another shine through. It was a joy to work with the newlyweds over 14 months to provide full planning and execution of their three-day wedding event in Shropshire.
